Decription
The linalool itself has a good aroma and a low boiling point. In the classification of the spice, linalool belongs to the “head fragrance”. When the perfumer tries to match a fragrance, it feels “boring”. When "not opaque", the first thing that comes to mind is "add some linalool", so on every shelf of the perfumer, linalool is in a prominent position.
Application
It is commonly used in the synthetic flavor and fragrance industry (FEMA 2635) and is also a raw material for the synthesis of isophytol, VE and VK.
1. linalool deodorant
One of the patents is reported as a solid air purifying agent having a volatile fatty acid aluminum, liquid paraffin, diphenyl ether and linalool. Its purifying effect is based on the combination of linalol and odorous substances in the air, so as to eliminate the uncomfortable smell in the room, and its efficacy can be maintained for more than three months.
Linalool has a strong ability to mask bad odors for disgusting sulfide hydrocarbons, garlic preparations, and polysulfides.
In addition, linalool is a major component of these deodorant formulations for the deodorization of excreta, especially human and animal waste.
2. Antibacterial effect of linalool
Terpene compounds such as linalool have good antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Proteus, Enterobacter faecalis, Staphylococcus, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, White cocci, Aspergillus niger, and agar.
It has been reported that linalool has five times the antibacterial effect of phenol and has similar antibacterial effects as citronellol. It is used to treat acne based on its antibacterial activity against propionic acid bacteria. Linalool has a synergistic effect on the anti-staff mutant of anacardic acid.
Animal experiments have shown that chicks infected with ES4 virus fed one milligram of linalool per day can prolong life by 50-80%.
It has also been reported that ozone (O3) can be used to treat inflammation, tumors, microbial infections and burns by passing terpene.
Ozone was made into linalool ozonide by linalool, and showed an inhibitory activity against Escherichia coli in a test tube.
3. linalool sedative effect
Foreign folks have reported the use of volatile oils or plants containing linalool as hypnosis and sedatives since ancient times.
4. Linalool other uses
(1) Improve fat quality:
It has been reported in Japan that the oil containing trace linalool and linalyl acetate can be prolonged to a heating time higher than 100 ° C, and the odor is better after long-term frying than the untreated control group. If some of the derivative compounds of linalool are used in combination with vitamin E, it has an eye-catching synergistic antioxidant effect on fats such as lard and palm oil.
(2) Stabilizing the foam:
The addition of a small amount of linalool to a spray-type aqueous cleaner containing a nonionic or anionic surfactant can effectively increase the stability of the foam.
(3) Aroma beverages based on tea:
According to the data analysis, the relative content of linalool in the aroma component of tea (green tea) is 19.88%, which is one of the most important aroma components. According to the patent, 250 grams of tea leaves were extracted with water and diluted to 10 liters. A small amount of aromatide, such as methyl anthranilate, was added. The tea was more fragrant than the untreated tea.
(4) Anti-mold agent:
Linalool and its acetate can inhibit the growth of fungal spores or mycelia, and can be used as a fungicide for fungal infection or other antifungal materials.
(5) Animal repellent:
Flavors blended with linalool, geraniol, and phenylethyl alcohol have good repellent effects on birds such as sparrows, crows, and pigeons.
(6) In the case of daily chemical products, bad smell masking agent:
The addition of 1-5% linalool and its esters to kerosene can be used as a deodorant for kerosene for combustion purposes.
The addition of 0.01-2% linalool to the protease-containing detergent masks the bad odor of the enzyme preparation. Also, the bleached fabric can be used to impart a good aroma to the enzyme-containing bleach.
Adding a terpene oil such as linalool to the textile softener can also achieve the purpose of masking bad odor.
Add 1% linalool or eucalyptus essential oil to the permanent curling agent solution to remove the bad odor from the hair curling agent.
